App User Guide

Please reach us at support@cardkins.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  1. Users can download the app from the iOS AppStore, for iOS Devices, or the Google PlayStore, for Android Devices.
  2. If a user has received a download link from another user, they should click the appropriate download link, based on their device, and continue to download the app. This way, the user who has shared the link and the user who uses the download link, will have each other’s digital visiting cards in the 'Exchanged Cards' folder, once sign up is complete.

  1. Once downloaded, complete the signup process as below with a valid phone number and email ID.  User must have access to their email address to successfully complete the sign-up process.
  2. Click on the "Register Here" on the initial screen.
  3. Provide access to "Location Services". This is required to allow the user to exchange their visiting card with other users of the app. Do note, *The app does not track live location, rather only takes the static location at the time of exchange or scan.
  4.  Enter Full Name, Phone number and Password to complete the registration process.
  5. Upon submission, the user will receive an OTP which needs to be entered for verification of the phone number.
  6. Upon completion, select whether you would like to use Biometrics for faster log in.
  7. Once logged in, navigate to the profile and enter email address. For corporate customer users, the user should enter their corporate email address.
  8. On submission, switch to email and verify the email address thro the mail received.
  9. Once the email has been verified, create the business card by taking picture of your visiting card for their profile. This is your Digital Business Card. This also creates the QR code for the Business Card. This card is used for exchanging their cards with other users and also as a QR code card.

  1. Location Services – Location plays an important role. It enables you to remember where did the meeting happened as well as to detect nearby users for exchanging cards digitally..
  2. Camera Access – Access to camera is required to take pictures of cards for scanning and storing.
  3. Local Contact Library – Access to local contacts, so user may store all their connections details in the local contacts app.

  1. User can access their profile from the home page by clicking on their profile picture on the top left corner.
  2. User can then assign what card they would like to make their default card and so on.
  3. Users can also add more cards to their profile for their other ventures.
  4. Users can also archive their cards for jobs or ventures they are no longer a part of. This actually sends a notification to all their connections about the user having archived the card, and their new default card is automatically sent to their connections. This makes all the connections ACTIVE!

  1. Once you have created your very first e-visiting card or are choosing to use the default card that the system has created for you, you can access your QR code from the home dashboard page.
  2. Click on the top right corner on the QR icon on the home dashboard page to view your QR codes.
  3. The user can click on the drop down menu above the shown QR code to select the QR code they'd like to view, hence show to the world outside.
  4. The QR code can be scanned by external phone cameras to open a webpage where non-users can view and download the card of the user, or they can enter they phone number to download the app and connect with the user on there.
  5. User can click on the scan to scan another user's QR code to exchange their visiting cards instantly.

  1. Click on the Exchange button, located at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Wait for users in the nearby vicinity to load.
  3. Click on the user you would like to exchange cards with.
  4. Your default card will be auto selected, but you have the choice of choosing other cards to exchange, or multiple cards at the same time.
  5. Once exchange is complete, the user’s card will appear under the Exchange tab on the Connections Page.

  1. When you receive an exchange request, you have 2 options, to “Accept and Exchange” or, to “Decline”.
  2. Accept and Exchange allows you select what card you would like to send back to the sender in return.
  3. Decline refuses the exchange request all together.
  4. Once the cards have been exchanged, the user can view the card in their exchanged cards list on the Home Page.
  5. There the user can add Notes to record their minutes of their meeting, Tasks to set reminders and also add Meta-Tags/Categories to their connections.

  1. Click on the scan button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. By default, the camera will turn on allowing user to take picture of card for scanning.
  3. User can close this window if they would like to upload a picture of a card they already have stored in their device.
  4. Once the picture is clicked or uploaded, the app performs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to identify all the words/numbers on the card, and fills them onto their respective fields.
  5. In some cases, the mapped data in the fields maybe incorrect. So users have a drop down menu right beside the field to select the right data they want added to the fields.
  6. At the bottom of the page, users have the option to add meta-tags/categories to their cards before saving them to their connections.
  7. Upon saving the card, the user can then navigate to the card from their home page by clicking on the "Scanned Cards".
  8. There the user can then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and add Notes and Tasks to the card against that person.

User can also import contacts from their phone book to the CardKins app. This makes organising your phone contacts easier using the CardKins platform. All the features of the app are available for the contacts imported; users can add Meta-Tags, Notes, Tasks and Selfies to these contacts as well.

All the contacts that are imported to the CardKins app are added in the Scanned Cards section of the app. Users can import contacts from their phone book to the cardkins app by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the More section of the app using the navigation bar at the bottom of the app.
  2. Click on Import contacts from phone book option in the list.
  3. Once the user clicks on this option, the app scans the user's phone contact book and detects how many new contacts will be added to the app.

What happens if you click on the option and nothing happens? This could mean that the user has not given the app permission to access the local contacts book. The user should access the privacy settings in their phone settings app and allow cardkins to access your local phone book.

Meta-tags are categories the user can add to the cards to make it easier to search and sort their connections. In the future, the meta tags will be able to export groups and broadcast lists to chatting services and be able to send messages more easily.

Meta tags are fully customizable and work a little like hashtags, where user can type the word(s) they would like linked to those users and they will be tagged under that word, for easier access.

e.g. people want to remember contacts by giving them categories. Same person can be "ChildHoodFriend", "Banker", "Adviser", "CEO", "CollegeBuddy"

Another can be "ArmedForces", "Christian", "Programmer", "Shipping"

You can give multiple tags to same contact and the contact will feature in those relevant categories.

How to add meta-tags to exchanged / scanned cards?

  1. Meta Tags can be added to Exchanged / Scanned Contacts.
  2. Select a Contact in the Exchanged / Scanned section of the connections page, and scroll down to the meta tags section of the page.
  3. Click on the “+” icon beside the meta tag to add tags to your connection.
  4. Type the word, if it is not on your list, to add that tag to the connection; or click the checkbox beside the tag to add it.
  5. Click done on the top right corner to save the tags added to the connection.

How are meta-tags useful?

  1. Click on the Sort/Filter icon on the top right corner of the Connections page, either in Exchange or Scanned sections.
  2. Select the meta tags you would like to view and all the connections with those tags will be filtered and shown.
  3. You can also look at all the contacts in a specific Tag / Category, by navigating to the "More" section and selecting "Meta Tags / Categories" and the complete summary.

Notes can be added to exchanged connections and scanned cards to help user keep track of their meetings. These notes can then be shared with the other user, and both users can then chat about the note and give updates to each other.

Notes are useful for keeping track about the meeting itself along with the date and time of the last interaction with the other user.

  1. Navigate to the connection details either in scanned section or exchange section of the connections page.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of page and click the “+” beside the notes section to add a note against that user.
  3. If no date and time is added, then the current date and time is added to the note.
  4. User also has the option to share the note with the user they are making the note against (only for exchanged connections).
  5. User can also add comments to the notes, to add follow ups and updates on that note.

Actionable items are tasks which can be added by the user against their connections in order to be reminded of any tasks they have.

  1. Click on the user or their scanned card to see their details.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the “+” icon to add a new actionable item.
  3. Add the actionable item, and select a date and time for the day the task is due.
  4. User is reminded of the task, before it is due and can click complete when done with the task.

Ever meet somebody and exchange cards with them, scan them or store them in the app and not remember what they look like? You can now add a selfie with that person and attach them to the card itself when storing them in the app.

Once you have scanned the card, then scroll to the bottom and attach a selfie with that person before you save the card. Or you can navigate to the respective cards already stored in the app and add selfies to those cards.

Navigate to the More tab of the bottom Navigation bas, and click on the Cards on Map option to view all the locations where you have scanned and exchanged cards with other users.

You can click on those cards to navigate to them and view the details of that connections.

Navigate to the More tab of the bottom Navigation bar, and click on the Selfie Gallery to see all your attached selfies in a single place.

You can click on the selfies to navigate to the card and view the details of that connection along with all the other details.

  1. Navigate to the “More” tab of the app to view more options and features the app provides.
  2. Navigate to the Share option of the list.
  3. Select the country code from the drop down menu and type the phone number of the user to whom you want to share the app with.
  4. A link of the AppStore link and the PlayStore link will be sent to the person whom you are referring the app too.
